Steve Szymanski

Steve Szymanski serves as Chief Financial Officer of KIRCO, providing financial leadership and oversight across the organization. Since joining KIRCO in 2002, he has played an integral role in supporting the company’s financial strategy, operations, and continued growth.

Steve oversees KIRCO’s finance, corporate and portfolio accounting, risk management, information technology, and administrative functions. Drawing on decades of financial and operational experience, he helps guide the organization’s financial performance and provides the oversight and discipline necessary to support KIRCO’s real estate investments, operations, and long-term business objectives.

Prior to joining KIRCO, Steve co-founded SpectrumHR, a professional employer organization, where he served as Chief Operating and Financial Officer. Earlier in his career, he held executive financial leadership positions with several major retail organizations, including Kmart and Perry Drug Stores. He began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen, working in the firm’s Detroit and Chicago offices.

Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and Computer Science from Western Illinois University, where he participated in the College of Business Honors Program. He is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
